Popular web site JournalSpace.com has suffered an unrecoverable loss, after the data files and database which contained the web site were lost from the server on which it was hosted. The site had 14,000 monthly visitors, a Page Rank of 6, and had been in business since 2002. Being Alexa Ranked 106,881 means that it was the 106,881th most visited web site in the world, and with in excess of 60 million web sites now in place that makes it a significant player.

We talk to people all the time who would love to drive more business through their web site, and of course in these recessionary times people are worried about the slow-down.
Now you could take us on, or some of the other good optimisation companies in the area to do a "proper job" on your web site, however for the smaller businesses around even these quite realistic charges are out of the question.

"Plumbers taps" they say kindly, or "builders house" trying to make it alright, as yet again I apologise for the look of the ancient and embarrassing web site that has graced our domain for the last couple of years. Each time I looked at the old web site I shivered to think that people would look at it and judge us by it - oh if only they would click on to your portfolio and see some of the nice sites that we have completed recently!

This post has been a long time coming - I first promised it in February, but it is an important one for anyone wanting to promote their web site for more traffic, visitors and sales.
The premise is this - you want people to plagiarise your web site. OK its not strictly plagiarism, but it looks like it to many people, and here's the difference. When you plagiarise someone it involves using their material (text, copyrighted works) without their permission, and passing it off as your own. This is a bad and dishonest thing. On the web you can plagiarise if you want, and this is sometimes referred to as "scraping": i.e. "someone has scraped content from my site". However you can also use people's content in a legitimate way.
