I started the Internet Marketing Course led by Peter Graves as an internet marketing novice, with the task of increasing visitors to a luxury products website (www.luxos.com), and with the uneasy feeling that if I didn't succeed, I wouldn't be website editor at Luxos for much longer...

That was in November 2009, so almost a year ago. The two-day course provided a comprehensive overview of the tools and techniques that I would have to use, from Analytics to DmoZ, including things such as keyword grouping, PPC, SEO, article syndication, social networking, link building, newsletters and much more.

I attended the Internet Marketing Course run by Channel Computing in February and was very impressed by course. There was something for everyone, from people looking for business opportunities without existing websites to businesses with well established websites looking build on what they have.

I was happy with the text on my website and only now do I see that it is all wasted. I blew £6000 getting £8.99 sales at a cost of £90 each!

An extremely intensive course with an enormous amount of content. The proof of the pudding will be the study of the eBook follow up. - Jim

I knew a little bit about this before I went on the course and so I was concerned whether I would get value for money - but I needn't have worried by 11am so many pennies had dropped that I felt the rest of the day was for free!

I'm not really a typical case for marketing as I'm a e-learning consultant and don't expect to get work from the internet but from networking, recommendations, job ads etc. However as a result of attending this course, I decided to create blogs & websites for the things that have been cooking in the back of my mind and link these to my consultancy website and I've been watching the impact on google analytics - and they are driving traffic to my site. Interestingly I've had a couple of business nibbles as a result. I guess its encouraging me to think more seriously about marketing and opening my business up to a wider audience, rather than thinking small. - Jude Clark
