featured-openspace-falmouthMandy and Barry Davies first came across Channel Computing when they took one of our Internet Marketing Courses.  They were in the process of launching their unique pooper scooper onto the market and needed a suitable website to enable them to do this and one that would allow them to market effectively online.

Content Managed Site

Having undertaken the internet marketing course they were in a good position to understand some of the nuances of online marketing and how this helps you choose a web site that will do the job.  Channel Computing developed a Joomla Content Managed System which allows both Barry and Mandy to update their own content, especially in the blog which they actively use to their advantage.  Search engines love fresh content and this is one of the easiest ways to keep your site up to date for them.   Being able to update it themselves helps keep their costs down.

Ecommerce

Dicky Bag has an ecommerce site which allows multi currency.  Mandy and Barry offer a next day delivery service with this and found they really needed to know about any of these orders immediately if they were going provide this service.  With a number of businesses to run they were not always sitting in front of their computer so we set them up with a text alert going straight to their mobile phones when an order came through.

Fun and Games

One of the remits of the web site was to keep it light and humorous.  Dog poop having plenty of opportunities for this!  With this in mind we have helped create a number of dog orientated competitions.  You are able to upload photos and videos into these competitions, make comments and rate the entries.  This provides fun interactions for web site users and is good for building traffic to a site.

On-going Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Campaign

Before we embarked on building the site a thorough keyword research was undertaken which helped identify good niches of people searching for their product on line.  A number of landing pages have been created around these keyword niches and an on-going linking strategy has enabled many of them to reach page 1 of Google.

Social Media

Dicky Bag is fully integrated with Social Media with active Facebook and Twitter accounts.  Any time a new blog is posted it automatically updates the Facebook status and Twitter accounts.

Adwords Campaign

A fully managed Google Adwords campaign compliments the search engine optimization, providing Dicky Bag with immediate traffic and fantastic statistics as to what keywords really ‘sell’ their product.  These conversion statistics helps to plan on-going SEO and target keywords for organic rankings.

In the Future

Dicky Bag is planning a doggy directory to cover businesses and places that actively encourage you to bring your dog.  This will create more content for the site, more traffic and more sales!

Do you have a dog?

Whilst we don’t have our own dog we occasionally find ourselves looking after and walking Rosie.  We use our Dicky Bag religiously and luckily no longer have to walk the dog and carry a bag of dog poo in a plastic bag.  It is safely and hygienically zipped up into the air tight container and conveniently forgotten until we find a suitable bin to dispose of the contents.  We highly recommend this pet poop scoop - a must for all discerning dog owners!
