Channel Computing are specialising increasingly in the provision of Content Managed web sites - where the sites owners can easily update the pages of their own site, without recourse to expensive developers every time a page needs to be changed.

The benefits of a CMS (Content management system) over a traditional web site are too numerous to list here, but you can view some of what is possible in our projects archive. A good CMS is also scalable, and can be developed to a fully functional e-commerce or community portal without having to stop and start again.

Mandy and Barry Davies first came across Channel Computing when they took one of our Internet Marketing Courses.  They were in the process of launching their unique pooper scooper onto the market and needed a suitable website to enable them to do this and one that would allow them to market effectively online.

Having undertaken the internet marketing course they were in a good position to understand some of the nuances of online marketing and how this helps you choose a web site that will do the job.  Channel Computing developed a Joomla Content Managed System which allows both Barry and Mandy to update their own content, especially in the blog which they actively use to their advantage.  Search engines love fresh content and this is one of the easiest ways to keep your site up to date for them.   Being able to update it themselves helps keep their costs down.

Social media has already become the next big thing, and companies both here in Cornwall and worldwide are making haste to jump on the bandwagon and make sure they don't miss out.

For most there is as yet no clear strategy for how they will achieve tangible rewards from Social Media, though the few siren calls that they have the keys to the Social Media Safe seem to be sufficient to keep new users jumping in at the rate of a few million per day.
